This is an interesting and original WW1 order dated 6th December 1915, entitled PREVENTION OF WASTE DURING JOURNEY and was issued to British officers in command of detachments traveling by rail. It basically orders that any rations issued but not consumed on a rail journey be handed over to the Railhead Supply Officer at the final destination. It forbids all rations to be issued to the men at the same time or for anything to be wasted. And warns that RT Establishment have strict orders to bring all cases of waste to notice immediately.
